We shared a family celebration for my cousin's 70th birthday. Service was good, however took quite some time to get our food. We brought in a cake, the restaurant attempted to charge $39 for a slicing fee. This was ridiculous, the fee was removed, however, should have never been put on the bill. '

We loved our light dinner here. Service is super friendly and accommodating, drinks are generous, and the food is a great modern twist on old school hearty flavors. We were not that hungry, so we shared 2 apps and a salad and some drinks, and they took such great care of us.

Exceptional, just exceptional! 6 friends and I were in town for a bachelor party, and being a group of food snobs that we are, we decided to make a stop at Jack Fry's due to its reviews and reputation. Suffice it to say, no one was disappointed. Every single item we had was cooked to perfection, seasoned perfectly, presented beautifully, and of course most importantly, tasted exceptional. Across our party of 7, we tried multiple starters, entrees, and desserts, and every single item was spot on perfection. The service was absolutely stellar as well. If you want refined Southern food with an old-school feel, this place is truly unbeatable.

Best filet I have ever had. Pork chop was amazing. Only appetizer to get is the spicy fried oysters. Environment is great, especially with the guy on the piano.

Simone is the best employee ever #recommend Simone whet above and beyond to make sure that we were sat at the right table and then consistently made sure that we had good service through out the entire night. Great food but the atmosphere is why you go here. They’ve kept things the same for years at this historic restaurant. The servers are top notch and they had a man playing piano the entire time. Very cool and fun atmosphere. It’s hard to find a great place that this that sticks true to the customer experience. I’ll be back the next time I’m in town!

Jack Fry's lives up to its #1 rating! We dined there last night - had exquisite service, food, wine and gratefully avoided their decadent desserts. The service team is outstanding - very attentive yet unobtrusive. The culinary talents of the chef's team are wonderful. The warm brie and stilton salads, the lamb chops, French au gratin potatoes, French baguette bread - were ALL exceptional!

This is my favorite restaurant when I visit Louisville. Great ambience and history. The food and service are top notch. I recommend the world's best pork chop (pictured). So delicious! They have a great beer and wine selection. I am particularly fond of the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. They will top your apple cobbler with their homemade ice cream of the day if you save room. Yum!

This place is amazing. Tables are close together and it gets loud pretty quickly but if you're okay with that the atmosphere has a truly unique character. Service is amazing, drinks are top notch, menu is to die for. I've dined there multiple times and cant endorse the lamb chops enough, but it's all good. Not cheap by any measure but worth every penny.

Steeped in classic American steakhouse style and tradition of comfort, ambiance and exceptional service. At the moment of being seated you are confident a highly satisfying dining experience at Jack Fry’s is ahead. Top quality fresh ingredients skillfully prepared are served here. On my recent visit I enjoyed perfectly grilled Beet Tenderloin. Particularly outstanding was Beet Caprese Salad I ordered to go with entree that included crispy fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus. Looking like a work of art the colorful salad burst with fresh, cool, complex flavors that were delicious. Also enjoyed terrific Sazerac, rustic bread, black coffee, espresso and Creme Carmel. Wine I selected was okay, not great. Cost in my opinion is reasonable, commensurate to quality of ingredients, cooking skill and great service.

The service was also pretty phenomenal. I felt like the server knew when to approach our table at just the right time. We started the table off with a bottle of Cabernet, the Escargots, and Spicy Fried Oysters - no picture of the apps, we inhaled those as soon as they were placed on the table.. Both were very delicious. I had no idea what Escargots were, and my friends didn't tell me until after we finished the plate. But it didn't even phase me knowing I ate snails.

Love the burger & fries. Yummy bread basket. Great service. It is a bit pricey, but it's a birthday tradition to come here for lunch.

AMAZING! What a gem! This is such a wonderful restaurant in the heart of the highlands. The service was outstanding, with the feeling of being served by old friends rather than just a another server. The food outstanding and the ambiance alluring. The combination of low light, live piano, and the dull roar of conversation gives the place a feeling much like old Hollywood. Cannot wait to return.

I loved this place. My son insisted that we visit Jack Fry's. The wait staff was WONDERFUL!! The food was fabulous. This was a great night out with our family. My only complaint would be we were by a very large group which were being very loud. Okay I get that but then the restaurant started playing live music which was absolutely wonderful however, which then made the table talk even louder. We couldn't hear each other at our small table. Do definitely a place to visit!

My birthday club goes here often. There is a 26 year span in our ages and we all love Jack Fry's! I eat Gluten Free and they do a wonderful job accommodating. From casual clothes to dressy attire....all seem to fit in here.

Amazing restaurant for dinner. Friendly staff and quality ingredients. I enjoyed the Brie Salad and the Squash Pasta, which had house made noodles. My boyfriend enjoyed the Pork Chop, he said it was the best he's ever had and he was still talking about it the next morning. Definitely a great place to check out.

Exquisite dining experience! Very high quality, well presented meals. Our server was Teresa and she was amazing. All the staff were attentive to every detail. The soft piano music being played live was a nice touch to a romantic evening. I ordered the filet, it was perfectly cooked. Husband got the burger and he liked that as well. We also enjoyed desserts, the banamasu and Opera Cake were outstanding.

Food was wonderful. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits. Do yummy.

Awesome experience with great atmosphere. Service was on point; the waiter knew when to show up and when to leave us alone to chat. Low lighting sets the mood for an intimate dinner with friends or a romantic dinner for 2. We went on a Friday night so it was very busy however that added to the liveliness of the experience. This place is always rated one of the best in town for a reason. I ordered the pork chop and my wife the salmon. Both were cooked to perfection. Overall this was a great experience and well worth the time and expense.

The food was fantastic, more focused on quality than innovation- not necessarily a negative, mind. Definitely on the pricier side, and though there is limited first-come seating at the bar, I would highly recommend making reservations a couple of days in advance. The environment is intimate, but by no means cloistered.

Always a great stop anytime you are in Louisville. You WILL need a reservation if you want to eat between 6 and 8 on most nights.A great cocktail bar, and the specials/seasonal food on the menu are always interesting and delicious!The staples are also amazing, you can never go wrong with the burger if you are in for lunch.

Today was my first time at Jack Fry’s, I had an awesome experience. The food was amazing, the waiter Michael was so nice and helpful and I will be going back!

Great service. Great atmosphere with the live jazz and with it being dimly lit. I was happy it was still lively though so I didn't feel like I couldn't talk. Worth the money spent. Definitely will be back.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was here. I was in Louisville on a trip to the bourbon trail and didn’t have any expectations coming into this restaurant. Being from Detroit where middle eastern and Mediterranean food are vast and lamb chops are a staple, I really could not believe how far they exceeded my expectations with their lamb chops here. The chops were tender and perfectly medium rare, and perfectly salted. Their potato au gratin was out of this world and the Demi glace, or whatever the sauce was, was spectacular! The only negative thing I could say about this place is that it was super loud inside.

The food and service was exceptional at Jack Fry's! My husband and I shared the oh so delicious lobster crab cakes, then shared a plentiful Bibb salad with a delicious Dijon vinaigrette. I had the Beef Filet and he had the Lamb Chops. They were both amazing! Definitely recommend Jack Fry's for an amazing dinner date to treat yourselves! Bring your pocketbook though, for real! Worth it though! So yummy and filling!

this place is nice. white tablecloths and the servers are pleasant. The chef did a great job of preparing our meals exactly how we ordered. Although, their price point is higher than we think they should be.

Had lunch there and it was wonderful. I had the daily special which was a cuban inspired pork tenderloin and sqash a bvb d carrot mix. It was absolutely amazing.

Top Notch dining! I love the ambiance and the constant water refills. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the Escargot was a welcome treat, and the creme brûlée was an awesome finish. Everyone was so attentive and kind, especially the General Manager, Nate Payne! Thanks for a great night out.

Great food tonight, but so noisy wife and I could not talk, and could not hear the waiter.I had the pork chop, delicious, w fingerling potatoes (too salty) and asparagus. Wife had salmon, delicious, and the beet salad, also delicious. We shared the mixed fruit cobbler w scoop of vanilla ice cream, that was excellent. We have eaten here several times, but never w this much noise, Saturday night, at 8:30-10:00. Suggest go early and request reservations way ahead.
